GARBAGE DISPOSALS OFFER FOOD FOR THOUGHT

Sink mounted garbage disposals contribute to sewage sludge and therefore increasee the cost to control and filter sewage water. The key question is what happens to the sludge (bio-waste) after it is removed by the sewage treatment plants? Does it contribute to greenhouse gas? What are the costs associated with this process?

Grinding food in your sinks garbage disposer and washing it down the sink alongside sewage only transfers the problem from the home to the sewage treatment plants!

However, Winrows in synergy with Fill-A-Box is the most cost effective means of getting as much food waste to where it can be used to extract value and reduce greenhouse gas, and is the ONLY program that offers carbon-offset credits for using the program through Greenebank. That is right, you can earn cash for using Winrows, that you cannot do using your garbage disposal!

Food waste is a valuable resource and you can use Winrows to maximize this value that you attempt to wash down the sink.

Interested in a patented disposal system for your home for food waste? Contact Winrows at winrows.com or asklarry@winrows.com.

PRIVATIZING RECYCLING IN YOUR COMMUNITY

Reducing the size and cost of government is the watchword and movement for the next 5-10 years. Local, City, County governments are facing challenges from shrinking revenue and rising costs.

The private sector of recycling provides services in an efficient low cost manner with innovations not seen by local government! (see Biloxi Sun Hearld March 23, 2011).

The fact is, that the cities with the highest recycling rates in America, San Froncisco California; Seattle, Washington is proof enough that privatization works.

And, this is where innovation comes from, because there is an incentive to innovate to increase recycling rates, decrease costs, and be efficient while protecting the environment.

Compare Fill-A-Box synergy programs from a private company that strive to innovate while protecting the environment.

PERMACULTURE A REVOLUTION

The provision of food, shelter, water, energy and waste management are contained within permaculture, and therefore, Fill-A-Box, Winrows and Stat-Medicament-Disposal contribute to this revolution. The word permaculture derives from the words permanent culture and permanent agriculture.

It is the conscious design and maintenance of agriculturally productive ecosystems which have diversity, stability, and resilence of natural ecosystems, it is the harmonious integration of landscape and people, providing their food, energy and shelter, and other material and non-material needs in a sustainable way.

Think about providing these things in your local neighborhood.

Permaculture is rebuilding the community, re-localize the control of these provisions for a sustainable human life in an ethical and ecological way.

You can read: Permaculture: A designers manual Tagari Publications.

You can depend on Fill-A-Box, Winrows, and Stat-Medicament-Disposal to continue to develop programs that are permaculture.

Go to Fill-A-Box, Winrows or Stat-Medicament-Disposal websites and see permaculture in action and find out how to institute these programs in your community.

MANAGING UNUSED-UNNEEDED PHARMECUTICALS AND PROTECTING YOUR DRINKING WATER

Improper disposal of unused-unneeded pharmecuticals is having an adverse impact on the environment, and on human health in your community!

Studies have demonstrated these adverse effects and raise concerns about the serious consequences that will occur if action is not taken.

Since 1980, unused-unneeded pharmecuticals have been increasingly recognized as chemical pollutants of the environment by the EPA!

The highest levels detected are from nonprescription drugs, antibiotics and prescriptions, which have adverse consequences for you and your family members, including endocrine disruption, such as (physical, mental, and sexual developments) and mostly antibiotic resistant strains of bacteria. Did you know that the EPA has found ampicillin resistant bacteria in every U.S. river tested in 1999?

If unused-unneeded pharmecuticals are not eliminated during sewage treatment they eventually reach your drinking water. In fact, most sewage and water treatment facilities in your cities and towns do not treat pharmecutical contaminants, so they are left untreated and enter surface, ground, and drinking water.

Fill-A-Box and Stat-Medicament-Disposal incorporates compartmentalization, automation, and bar-code scanning technology for their safe and effective removal of unused-unneeded pharmecuticals, this in cooperation with it’s online database enables your community to quantify and identify what you have accomplished in your community with Fill-A-Box and Stat-Medicament-Disposal.

A paradigm shift in thinking as to the removal of unused-unneeded pharmecuticals from the waste stream and landfills, and most importantly your drinking water systems.

PHARMACEUTICALS, HORMONES, AND OTHER ORGANIC WASTEWATER CONTAMINANTS IN U.S. STREAMS

Recently the U.S. Geologocal Survey (USGS) released a report that there is a growing concern for potential adverse human and ecological health effects resulting from the production, use and disposal of chemicals, even common household medicines. This research shows that many of these compounds enter the environment disperse and persist far longer than first anticipated, and surprisingly, little is known about the extent of environmental effects or the ultimate fate of many synthetic organic chemicals. Many of these compounds pass through wastewater treatment plants or septic systems which are not designed to remove them.

What is stricking is if you go to the FDA Consumer Guidance – disposal of unused medications they state “Most drugs can be thrown in the household trash, but consumers should take certain precautions before tossing them out.”

Wow, you should be concerned! Only Stat-Medicament-Disposal in synergy with Fill-A-Box offers complete removal from homes and your water systems and landfills.
Made from oils, cornstarch, or vegetable fats it is estimated to be about 1% of over 230 million tons of plastic produced each year.

However, it may sound good, “Bioplastic”, but the problem is it has a varied end of life. That means that some “Bioplastics” can be composted but not recycled. Some can only be recycled but not composted.

Currently “Bioplastics” are still found in recycled plastic bales along with PET and others.

Composters such as Winrows does not accept food waste in “Bioplastic” bags because of the compostability issues.

Lets hope that Green Chemistry catches on and develops a truly compostable product therefore deriving value at end of life recycling.

What “Bioplastic” cannot be recycled in Fill-A-Box clean air system is ground into pellets and used as fuel in Stat-Medicament-Disposal process.

Do you know what products you use that come in “Bioplastic” containers?

WHY HOUSEHOLDS DON’T RECYCLE

The number one reason cited in a recent survey was convienence. That is, even a curbside program is inconvienent because the provided Recycling bins are:

1. Too large to fit in the home.

2. No constant reminder in the home.

3. No regular schedule for pick-up (waiting to fill containers before curbside placement).

or, without a curbside program, collecting items, (in some kind of container) and then driving to a drop-off center takes too much effort.

The next reason, is confusing programs, such as not being able to mix plastics (sorting or removing bottle caps), that is households think recyclers have their own secret language that they do not understand. So, it is just easier to throw it all in the trash!

Another cited reason is households do not like government funded recyclingprograms that is their own tax dollars used for programs that are not even marginally successful.

However, the answer can be found at Fill-A-Box and Winrows.

Containers, that fit nicely in your kitchen, clearly marked for placement of recycables, picked up weekly and placement of a clean new container, and a container that provides recycling of more products than any other program.

Plus, the added benefit of Greenebank Carbon Offset credits in your account by address/location.

Want this Recycling program in your neighborhood? You can reach us at Contact@Fill-A-Box.com or Contact@Winrows.com or ask Larry.

LASTIC RECYCLING COLLECTION NATIONAL SURVEY

In May 2011 Moore Recycling Associates Inc. www.moorerecycling.com published a study of rigid plastics that were collected curbside or by municipal drop-off.

This study found that only 2.4% of the U.S. population with recycling access for all plastics, and only 13% for rigid plastics.

This study also found that a majority of cities and counties continue to use resin codes to discribe to households acceptable materials for recycling, which has confused the public.

Using number is unnecessary since all plastic containers are of one of these types of resin and it does not affect the recycability of the plastic.

The study found this type of education (using codes) discourages plastic recycling.

Fill-A-Box collection system recovers ALL plastics within the household.

Fill-A-Box encourages and increases the amount of plastics recycled by households.

And, as an added incentive, households recieve credit in their address/location account at Geeenebank of carbon offset credits.

Join the Fill-A-Box revolution.

In the past, there has been a barrier to Recycling! This was a subconscious, suttle barrier. YOUR RECYCLING RECEPTACLE. The design, and the size of the Recycling receptacle determined where you placed it in your residence, and that affected how much you used it for Recycling.

Size, usually relegated the placement of the Receptacle to the garage or yard. Out of sight out of mind! Fill-A-Box is designed for in-home convienence and as a constant motivator for items you place for Recycling.

Using Fill-A-Box, you will find increased numbers of items and the total amount that you recycle.

That increases your redeemable Carbon Offset Credits in your account at Greenebank©™.

Yes! Recycling is worth it! It can save the planet and put money in your pocket through Greenebank.

UNUSED-UNNEEDED PHARMECUTICALS PROGRAM

LAW PASSED (S-3397)

On October 10, 2010 President Obama signed the secure and Responsible Drug Disposal Act of 2010.

This law amends the Controlled Substance Act and allows Public and Private entities to develop a variety of methods for collection and disposal in a secure, convienent, and responsible manner.

Currently the DEA is developing rules which are expected sometime in 2012.

However, Controled substances as a percentage of unused-unneeded pharmecuticals is very small. And, currently if you log onto the White House Drug Policy you will be directed to either flush them down the toilet, or place them in a bag of coffee grounds and through in your trash.

Currently the EPA has found the presence of unused-unneeded pharmecuticals in your drinking water systems, streams and lakes throughout the United States, and a majority of these findings are not controlled substances, such as acetaminophem, cough syrups, etc.

Fill-A-Box collection system is an alternative to flushing your unused-unneeded pharmecuticals down the toilet or throwing them in the trash.

Fill-A-Box segragates unused-unneeded pharmecuticals from the rest of your recycables.

Fill-A-Box creates a database for your address/location of the unused-unneeded pharmecuticals recycled by you.

Stat-Medicament-Disposal then uses your unused-unneeded pharmecuticals for it’s wasdte-to-energy program.

THE PUBLIC HEALTH IS PROTECTED SAFELY!

THE EASE OF USE CANNOT BE QUANTIFIED!

IMPLEMENTATION IS EASY!

PARTICIPATION INCREASES EXPONETIALLY!

And, there is a safe and secure record.
